Attached is a photo from the Oscoda High School Class of 2022 award ceremony this past Wednesday. The recipient of the Oscoda Area United Way scholarship was Savahanna Webster. This scholarship was through the Oscoda Education Opportunity Foundation.
The Oscoda Education Opportunity Foundation’s mission is to partner the resources and passions of our generous donors with the compelling needs of our students. They offer Scholarships to graduating senior, OAS staff mini-grants and continuing education scholarships for alumni.
The Oscoda Education Opportunity Foundation was formed in December of 1992. It started with a small group of individuals who were committed to support Oscoda Area Schools staff and students. that small group was formed with dedicated volunteers representing the community, parents, OAS Board of Education and OAS staff. The beginning of the Foundation coincided with the closure of Wurtsmith Air Force Base. The Oscoda Education Opportunity Foundation is a grass roots efforts to meet the needs of area students today and in the future!
